Introduction to Rail Operations Development
Rail Operations Development Limited (RODL) is
a solution driven consultancy working within the rail industry.
RODL was founded in April 2005 by Alan Macdonald and William O’Connor,
both of whom have held senior positions within train and freight operating
companies and who between them have over 50 years experience in the fields
of railway operations, safety, project, change and HR management.
RODL’s aim is to ensure the provision of cost effective, practical support
and solutions by utilising the experience, competence and skills of its Directors,
employees and associates.
This philosophy, when taken together with the Directors’ personal commitment
to provide an individual contribution to ensuring the effective delivery of
each contract has resulted in an ever expanding portfolio of both new and
‘repeat business’ clients.
As a result, RODL is now providing cross-functional ‘best practice’
business solutions to all sectors of the industry and, in particular, is making
significant contributions to improving the operational and safety performance
of main players such as Rail Safety and Standards Board, Network Rail, Infrastructure
Maintenance Providers and Train/Freight Operating Companies.
RODL’s success, since its inception, in delivering an effective, solution
driven contribution to the industry has further been assured by building upon
and expanding the Directors’ skill base through the employment of a
team of extremely competent, railway-experienced, professional employees and
associates.
Specifically recruited to match and supplement the attributes and commitment
of RODL’s Directors, each employee and associate provides a significant,
individual and personal contribution to the delivery of successful, cost-effective
and practical solutions to RODL’s clients.
